and oh god I just have all the feelings, especially for ZQ Spock…

ZQ is pretty much a perfect human being.

I’m not saying that because I want him to ~be mine forever~, because A) I don’t feel that way and B) celebrities are, contrary to popular belief, their own person and perfectly capable of making their own decisions about their own personal lives in order to make themselves happy, not a fantasized ideal serving the whims of fans.

Rather, I’m saying that because he is honestly, objectively, asexually, the most precious baby I’ve ever seen.

Other things in that movie I think are precious:

• Dropping catch phrases for the fanboys
• Kirkdad
• Space Husbands
• The gag reel, oh my GOD

Things I think are not precious:

• Uhura / Spock… I mean, my own experience is limited, but I do know there’s enough material for a LOT of ships over the course of the Star Trek saga. I’m sure someone out there could handle it in a way I wouldn’t mind. But this was kind of a blatant Hollywood oops-cant-have-our-two-leading-men-interact-without-a-Bechdel-failing-love-interest-for-SOMEONE move and I just. Didn’t buy it, compared to how strong and progressive Uhura originally was as a black female role model breaking into television. (Plus it would mean they started all this while she was his student and that’s just bleh to me as far as Spock’s character goes but I digress.)

Good movie (though I completely bow my head to all the more educated Trekkies out there pointing out it’s problems, they’re absolutely right, I mean this only from an entertainment standpoint), A++ would watch again.
